Girls Aerial Adventure for Sick Children

Three Girls from Amcotts near Scunthorpe decided to face their fears in order to raise money for "When you wish up on a star" the Charity which makes dreams come true for sick children.

Three Girls from Amcotts near Scunthorpe decided to face their fears in order to raise money for "When you wish up on a star" the Charity which makes dreams come true for sick children.

Amber Dring-Hill (13), Jade Bassingdale (13) and Grace Wye (12) of North Axholme Comprehensive School had already raised more than £100 through Fund raising activities in their village when they decided that the ideal way to give their fund raising a boost was to take on a sponsored challenge. Looking for an adrenaline adventure they called Louth based Events Management Company VIP Adrenaline, who were happy to help.

Having established that the girls weren't too afraid of height's and wanted a real challenge VIP Adrenaline arranged for them to take on the High Ropes Adventure course at Market Rasen.

Not for the faint hearted this course is set high above the forest floor at Lindon Warren, it's up to 40 ft high in places and includes 20 aerial challenges.

The girls have taken on this challenge as part of Humberside Police's Lifestyle scheme which encourages 10 -18 year olds to give up time in their summer holidays to benefit the community. The scheme has been running since 1989 and last year more than 5,000 young people took up the challenge clocking up more than 41,300 hours.

Managing Director of VIP Adrenaline, Victoria Pickles said "What the girls have undertaken is fantastic and we were very happy to be able to give our services for free to help them as they raise money for 'When you wish up on star'. Hopefully we have found them an activity which is challenging but great fun and which will help them raise lots of money for the charity"

Through their efforts the girls have now raised nearly £200.
